Secret Tip : A walk-in refrigerator in the back of Little Italy’s Craft & Commerce Restaurant may hold a clue. A grotto, wood carvings, and a waterfall are just a few of the other creative and immersive details here. This hush-hush hideaway is home to more than 200 varieties of rum, as well as a flaming volcano that can “erupt” at any minute (although rumor has it that ordering a “Alkala the Fierce” cocktail can spur the lava gods into action). Get down with some more sneaky tiki at False Idol. We won’t tell you exactly where, though - in this case, finding it is half the fun. Secret Tip : The entrance is hidden in Tahona. The menu is arranged based on the style of cocktail, whether “sippers” or punch bowls. A dress code and etiquette code are politely enforced (gentlemen, no baseball hats or flip-flops), and there’s a dedicated mezcal tasting room. This tucked-away tavern is a respectful homage to underground Prohibition-era taverns of the past, as well as echoing motifs from the neighboring cemetery.
